AI can write a plan, but it cannot touch the project – or it touches too much.

Generic assistants don’t know your issues, your versions or who is busy. Give one write access and nobody can say afterwards what it changed, what it cost, or who said yes. So the useful work still happens by hand.

In plain words

What is Crux Agents?

Crux Agents turns Crux Chat into a team of specialists. Each agent is good at one area of your work – Project Manager, Scrum, Capacity, Time, Sales, Budget, Invoicing, Support, Knowledge Base, QA, Reviewer, Test Author, DevOps and more. They pick up real work from your Redmine and propose changes; you approve.

Bigger goals run as work packages through pipelines with approval gates, and every run is kept in the Run Ledger. Agents live inside Redmineflux – same pages, permissions and look as the rest of the suite.

What your team gains

Agents that work. People who decide.

Pick a shift to see what changes in the product. They play on their own – hover to pause.

Shift 1 of 5

Work that gets picked up, not just discussed.

Tag an issue as ready for an agent and the specialist whose skills match picks it up from the Ready Queue – drafting the reply, the test cases or the plan – and proposes the result for your approval.

Core capabilities

The specifics, for people who want them.

26 ready-made agents in 5 groups – or add your own.

  • Support and knowledge: Support, Knowledge Base
  • Engineering and quality: QA, Reviewer, Code Reviewer, Test Author, Docs Writer, Monitor, Alert Triage, Root-Cause Analyst, Auto-Fixer, DevOps

Role by role

What Crux Agents changes for each role.

Status and follow-ups

Project Manager

Ask for a project summary and get progress, milestones and risks from live data – then let the Project Manager agent create the follow-up issues, each one confirmed by you.

Delivery pipelines

Engineering Lead

Run a feature as a work package: plan, develop, test, review, deliver – with gates you approve and a work graph of who did what.

Faster first answers

Support Lead

The Support agent drafts replies from the knowledge base and proposes ticket updates; nothing is sent or changed without a person’s Confirm.

Governance

CTO / IT Director

Frozen rules, budgets per agent and per user, role-based permissions and a complete Run Ledger – AI you can show an auditor.

Why all three

They build on each other

The MCP Server connects your Redmine, Crux Chat talks to it, and Crux Agents do the work through Chat – so they are sold together, 15% below the $1,297 they would cost one by one.

How the three fit together →
On Managed Cloud

Redmineflux AI add-on

Monthly add-on

Every Cloud package can add Redmineflux AI – MCP Server, Crux Chat and Crux Agents – as a monthly add-on with a usage cap, because we pay for the model usage. Pricing is being finalised.

Frequently asked

Questions teams ask before adopting Crux Agents.

If yours isn’t here, check the pricing page or write to support@redmineflux.com.

Can an agent change data without asking?+

No. In chat, a proposed change is only a card until a person confirms it. Work packages cannot move past an approval gate without a person, whatever the autonomy level. Frozen rules are hard limits that no approval can bypass.

Which AI providers do the agents work with?+

Anthropic, OpenAI and Google Gemini are built in. Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint can be added, such as OpenRouter or a local Ollama server. API keys are stored masked in the Crux key store.

Is Crux Agents available on self-hosted Redmine and on Cloud?+

Self-hosted: yes, in the Redmineflux AI Bundle – $1,099 one-time with 1 year of support, licensed per installation for up to 100 users. On Managed Cloud, Redmineflux AI is a monthly add-on to your package (we pay for the model usage, so it is metered) – pricing is being finalised.

How do we get started?+

Administrators set Crux up once: connect Crux to the Crux core service, add an AI provider and API key, enable the Crux module in each project, grant Crux permissions to the roles that need them, and optionally add agents. After that, everyone can use Ask Crux from the chat bubble on any page.

How much does Crux Agents cost?+

Crux Agents is sold together with Crux Chat and the MCP Server as the Redmineflux AI Bundle: $1,099 one-time for self-hosted Redmine – 1 year of support included, then support renews at 30% per year.

Do we need Crux Chat to use Crux Agents?+

Yes. Crux Agents is the addition to Crux Chat: the chat is how you ask, approve and talk to an agent, and the MCP Server is the connection both use to read and update Redmine. The Redmineflux AI Bundle contains all three.
