Redmine MCP Server – connect any AI agent to Redmine.
For Redmine teams who want AI without a per-seat subscription bill.
The Redmineflux MCP Server connects AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Cursor to Redmine through the open Model Context Protocol. Every call is checked against the user’s Redmine permissions and logged. Sold together with Crux Chat and Crux Agents as the Redmineflux AI Bundle – $1,099 one-time for self-hosted Redmine. On Managed Cloud, Redmineflux AI is an optional monthly add-on. AI for Redmine overview →

Your team already uses Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. None of them can see your Redmine, so people copy issue lists into a chat window and paste answers back. Each tool wants a per-seat licence, and nobody can say afterwards what the AI actually changed.
One server. Two ways in. Same Redmine underneath.
Your team’s questions become MCP tool calls. The Redmineflux MCP server resolves them against the same Redmine your team has always worked in – plugin-aware, audit-logged, plain-English.
The server auto-detects which Redmineflux plugins are installed and only exposes what your installation actually supports. Nothing your AI can hallucinate against.
What is the Redmineflux MCP server?
The MCP server is the bridge between Redmineflux and any AI agent. Power users connect their existing tools – Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot – directly to the MCP server. Everyone else uses the Redmineflux chatbot built into every page. Same server underneath, one Anthropic or OpenAI key for the whole team.
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard from Anthropic. It lets AI agents connect to external systems through a structured, secure interface – without a custom integration for every AI tool. Redmineflux speaks it natively.
Talk to your Redmine. In any tool you already use.
Pick a shift to see what changes in the product. They play on their own – hover to pause.
One key for the team. Every model in reach.
One Anthropic or OpenAI API key configured once in Redmineflux – every teammate uses the in-product chatbot through it. No per-seat subscriptions, no licence sprawl.
Questions answered from live data.
“What should I work on first?” becomes a workload tool call. The answer lists your open issues by priority, across projects, in seconds – read from Redmine, not guessed.
Changes made as you, permission-checked.
“Log 4 hours on #2972 and mark it 80% done” updates the issue and logs the time – checked against the authenticated user’s Redmine role before anything is written.
Plugin-aware, not generic.
Timesheet, Workload, Agile Board, Knowledge Base and more expose their own tools. Open-source Redmine MCP servers cover core issues; Redmineflux covers the platform.
Every AI interaction has a paper trail.
Each tool call is logged as a JSON Lines record – session, user, tool, parameters (sensitive fields redacted), timing, result. Stream it to your SIEM or observability stack.

What the MCP server changes for each role.
CTO / IT Director
One API key, one audit log and one permission model for every AI tool in the company – instead of a subscription per seat per vendor.
Project Manager
Ask “what ships this sprint and what is at risk?” and get a plain-English summary from live issues – no saved queries, no exports.
Engineering Lead
Log time, update issues and check workload from Claude Code or Cursor without leaving the editor.
Developer
Your AI assistant can read the issues you can read and write what you can write – nothing more.
MCP Server gets better with these.
Three ways to get MCP Server.
MCP Server + Crux Chat + Crux Agents
- MCP Server is sold together with the other two – they build on each other
- 1 year of support included
- Renew support at 30% per year
- No licence keys · up to 100 users per installation · full source
Up to 100 users are included in every licence – nothing to add.
They build on each other
The MCP Server connects your Redmine, Crux Chat talks to it, and Crux Agents do the work through Chat – so they are sold together, 15% below the $1,297 they would cost one by one.
How the three fit together →Redmineflux AI add-on
Every Cloud package can add Redmineflux AI – MCP Server, Crux Chat and Crux Agents – as a monthly add-on with a usage cap, because we pay for the model usage. Pricing is being finalised.

Which AI assistants does it work with?+
Any agent that supports the Model Context Protocol. Verified today: Claude Code and Claude Desktop (Anthropic), ChatGPT with MCP enabled (OpenAI), GitHub Copilot (Microsoft), Cursor, and any custom agent built on the MCP TypeScript or Python SDK.
Is the MCP server available for self-hosted Redmine?+
Yes. It comes in the Redmineflux AI Bundle with Crux Chat and Crux Agents – $1,099 one-time for self-hosted Redmine, with 1 year of support included. On Managed Cloud, Redmineflux AI is an optional monthly add-on.
What does “capability injection” mean?+
The MCP server auto-detects which Redmineflux plugins are installed on your Redmine instance and loads only the tools those plugins actually support. If you don’t have Workload installed, the server doesn’t expose Workload tools. No fake capabilities, no noise.
How is the audit logging structured?+
Every tool call writes a JSON Lines record: session ID, user, tool name, parameters (sensitive fields redacted), timing and result. Ship them to your SIEM or compliance system. No prompt content is stored unless you opt in.
How much does the MCP server cost?+
The MCP Server is sold together with Crux Chat and Crux Agents as the Redmineflux AI Bundle: $1,099 one-time for self-hosted Redmine – 1 year of support included, then support renews at 30% per year. On Managed Cloud, Redmineflux AI is an optional monthly add-on.
What is the difference between the MCP server and Crux?+
The MCP server lets external AI tools talk to Redmine. Crux is the AI layer inside Redmineflux – Ask Crux chat and Crux agents that propose changes and wait for your approval. Both use the same connection to your Redmine data.
